Frequently Asked Question:
Is it possible to OCR an existing PDF without changing the image content?
We have some image-only PDFs, both color, and black and white, that need to be OCRed so that they are text-searchable.
It is not possible to OCR PDF files using Quick PDF Library, however, if you were to use a different tool to OCR the documents, then it should not change the image content of the document. The OCR'ing process will simply scan the document and detect any characters and then add a new content stream to the document, independent of the image content, that contains an object for the text. The text and image content will be in separate objects (as they always are in PDF).
